Moving Cultures, Transcultural Encounters
The Summer School ‘Performing Postcolonialisms’ (4-8 September 2017) will focus on contemporary art, sports, food, political and online demonstrations, inventions, and identities of postcolonial people. Our interest is to open a discourse on the multi-directional influence that colonialism and imperialism has had on the world and what it means to perform postcolonialisms in one’s home country, abroad, in transit, in art scenes, in politics, at dinner, in the street, and on the field.
The summer school is organized by students of the Institute of English and American Studies in conjunction with the Gesellschaft für Anglophone Postkoloniale Studien (GAPS).
Call for Members!
The GAPS group that will organize the Summer School in September 2017 in Frankfurt is looking for more members who want to participate in this project and help to coordinate artists, workshops, excursions and evening activities.
